This section provides information regarding the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996. This act is intended to ensure that only those people legally entitled to live and work in the UK are offered employment. It is a criminal offence to employ someone whose immigration status prevents them from working in the UK. All UK employers wishing to hire an employee from outside of the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland must have an Employer Sponsorship Licence.
